Schneider & Barsoux (2003) state, “ Examining the degree to which organizations have centralized power, specialized jobs and roles, and formalized rules and procedures, we find distinct patterns of organizing which prevail despite pressures for convergence. This raises concerns regarding the transferability of organizational forms across boarders and questions the logic of universal “best practices” (p.85).
