To Have And To Hold
Betty Friedan, one of the most influential early second-wave feminists, believed that the generation of women described in To Have and To Hold lacked identities of their own, that they were always defined as somebody?s wife or somebody?s mother who facilitated, nurtured, and sacrificed for others, like true women of another era.
After reading To Have and To Hold by Jessica Weiss, how accurate do you think her assumptions/beliefs are?
This is to be answered in a 5-6 page paper that makes an argument (hint: agreeing or disagreeing with the question, stated without words like ?I will argue? or ?I disagree with Freidan? is a good starting point) and musters evidence from the book. This should be your own work. This should not be a book review. You will be evaluated by the quality of your writing as well as the persuasiveness and completeness of your interpretation.
